No, we aren't talking about Elvis this time. In 2012, Albert King (April 25, 1923 – December 21, 1992) was finally inducted into the rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a long overdue honor! The influence of Albert King is evident in nearly all genres of music. Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, Johnny Lang....the list goes on! King grew up on the the street of Osceola, Arkansas. More importantly, he learned to play the guitar in Osceola! His first band, the " In the Groove Boys" played at the infamous T-99 club in Osceola. The T-99 was a frequent stop of all the blues greats that traveled the Blues Highway, from Chicago all the way to New Orleans. King moved North, but he never forgot his Arkansas roots. This year, 2013, The Osceola Heritage Music Festival is dedicated to the legacy of our King, Albert King.
