Giving Back
As a nonprofit organization, we want to turn a portion of our proceeds back into the community. As its name indicates, music is at the forefront of this festival, and without some of our local performers like Reggie Young, Albert King, Son Seals, and so many more, the musical landscape as we know it would look a whole lot different. Our musical heritage has inspired us to help cultivate the next generation of performers and set a spark that will ignite a lifelong passion for music with our local youth.

Osceola MusicFest Reggie Young Memorial Scholarship
It’s an unfortunate reality that many students that are in music programs in high school stop playing or singing once they graduate. Though a very, very small number go on to major in music or perform professionally, there are significantly more that choose a different career path, but are still very musically talented and enjoy performing. We want to encourage expanding their love for music beyond high school by offering scholarships to two graduating seniors or alumni, one from each Osceola and Rivercrest high schools, that have been involved in music programs, and will continue to performing in college, whether that be with an institutional group like AState or UCA Marching Band or a community group like the band or choir at Arkansas Northeastern College.

Support of Local Elementary School Music Education
As with Reggie and most any lifelong musician, we know that the love for music starts at an early age. The elementary music programs at Osceola and Rivercrest work with the youngest of students teaching the basics of instrumental and vocal music, introducing them to a variety musical styles, and encouraging performance. If you have children in your family, you’re likely familiar things like recorder concerts or vocal presentations, even starting as young as Pre-K. To help them further their efforts, we contribute to both the Osceola Elementary and Rivercrest Elementary music programs.
Support of Local High School Music Education
Our local high schools’ band programs are the front line of not only teaching how to play a note or read sheet music, but also teaches dedication, persistence teamwork, math and reading, personal accountability, and respect. The camaraderie and sense of place that comes from being in band creates a family that lasts beyond halftime. Through camps, competitions, and performances, they not only grow their skills, but their confidence and pride. The cost of camps or instruments can be very expensive, and if school-provided instruments are all taken, that cost may prevent someone from discovering a passion that could change their life. To help with the unique needs of both programs, we also contribute to both the Osceola High School and Rivercrest High School Bands.
